Two Permanent Positions at University College Dublin, Ireland

Specialist Clinician in Small Animal Surgery (Ref: 014378) and Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Small Animal Surgery (Ref: 014426)

The Section of Small Animal Clinical Studies is seeking to fill two permanent posts as Specialist Clinician and Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Small Animal Surgery. We are looking for experienced clinicians with expertise in Orthopaedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery, and/or Neurosurgery to contribute to our continuing development of a young and enthusiastic team of small animal surgeons. We require board certification (or board eligibility) in ECVS or ACVS. Consideration will also be given to a Diplomate of the ECVN for the Lecturer/Assistant Professor post. The Specialist Clinician will provide approximately 80% clinical practice with a commensurate salary reflecting these duties. The Lecturer/Assistant Professor position is approximately 50% clinical practice and clinical teaching and 50% devoted to research, preclinical didactic teaching, and administration.

Our hospital is facilitated with digital radiography, 32 slice Siemens CT and a brand-new state of the art 1.5T MRI, fluoroscopy, Karl Storz laparoscopic and arthroscopic imaging systems, operating microscope, full instrumentation for soft tissue, orthopaedic, neurosurgery and interventional radiology, and a radioactive iodine suite. Our orthopaedic/neurosurgery and soft tissue services are extensively equipped to offer BioMedtrix total hip, linear/circular IMEX external skeletal fixation, Synthes internal fixation, Karl Storz UHD arthroscopy, and instrumentation for intraoperative fluoroscopy (eg, SUB) and minimally invasive procedures (thoracoscopy and laparoscopy). The successful applicant will work alongside a full complement of specialists and residents in training in various disciplines (ECVS, ECVIM-CA, ECVDI, ECVP), including 3 ECVS-SA residents, and a large nursing team.We provide a supportive environment for self-development and progression.
