Residency in neurology and neurosurgery at the Centre Hospitalier Vétérinaire ADVETIA, France (2021-2024)

Centre Hospitalier Vétérinaire ADVETIA is seeking a dynamic veterinarian with a great interest and advanced knowledge in neurology and neurosurgery, to undertake a three-year ECVN conforming residency program.

ADVETIA Veterinary Hospital, open 24 hours / 365 days a year, is a multi-specialty referral centre that is home to board-certified specialists in surgery (1), radiology/diagnostic imaging (2), internal medicine (2), cardiology (1), dermatology (2), stomatology (1) and anesthesiology / pain management (1). ADVETIA provides emergency and critical care services to local veterinarians on a referral basis.

We provide world-class diagnosis, treatment and care for over 1000 patients a year. We are fully supported by facilities and equipment, including 1.5T MRI, a GE CT scanner, electrophysiology equipment, neurosurgical suite/equipment, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound, CBCT and laboratory.

We are seeking a motivated neurology/neurosurgery resident to join our team. The successful candidate will have completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship, have a strong knowledge background on general veterinary medicine and will be ready to work with a busy caseload. Additional experience in neurology and neurosurgery (1-year specialty internship) will be highly appreciated. The resident will be supervised and work on daily basis with two ECVN-boarded diplomates. He will be provided with training in medical/surgical neurology through rotations with the neurologists, MRI technologists, radiologists and other specialists. Further training will be available through neurology journal club, imaging rounds and neurology rounds. Our hospital also has general/specialty internship and other residency programs ongoing.


Beginning: August 2021

Entry requirements:


- special interest in neurology and neurosurgery

- 1-year rotating small animal internship or an equivalent experience in private practice. Additional 1-year experience in internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery would be appreciated.

– Fluent French speaking and writing and a good English speaking and writing level.
