Note to all the active Residents and Supervisors

Dear ECVN and ESVN members,

We hope that you stay safe and well during this period of great concern and uncertainty. The ECVN Executive Committee would like to support you in any way we are capable of. We all had to change our normal routines to mainly protect the most vulnerable people in our communities and beyond.

We understand that many of our ECVN residents are having difficulties organizing their clinical rotations and the clinical neurology weeks in order to fulfil their credentials that are due on 1st of September 2020. The Education and the Credentials Committee would like to inform you that some flexible guidelines have been adopted and that these guidelines might be further modified according to the progress of the COVID19 pandemic situation:

  • If the candidate has not been able to complete all the rotations and clinical weeks due to COVID19 pandemic situation, the candidate should still be able to submit the credential file by 1st of September 2020 pending those clinical rotations and clinical neurology weeks. If the credentials file is accepted, then the candidate should complete the pending rotations/clinical weeks and notify the credentials committee by 1st of January 2021 in order to sit the exam in February 2021.
  • The Education and Credentials Committee do not expect at this point that any other requirements of the credential file are affected by COVID19.
  • If further specific adjustments due to COVID19 are needed by the candidate and the supervisor to fulfill the credential file by the 1st of September 2020, these specific adjustments should be emailed to the Education and Credentials Committee within a reasonable time (latest by the 1st of August 2020). These adjustments will be evaluated by the Education and Credentials Committee and the decision will be emailed to the candidate and supervisor within 10 working days of email receipt.

These are challenging and uncertain times, but we feel confident that as ECVN College and community, we can get through this together.

Best wishes and please stay well and safe,

The Executive Committee
