Important new information regarding credentialiting

Update, 09/04/2019

Dear colleagues,

the Education and Credential Committee would like to communicate that all candidates who complete the residency programme in the same year (by the 31st December) of the credential file submission are eligible to submit their credential file by the 1st of September, therefore prior to the end of their residency programme.

However, if the candidate submits a successful credential file prior to completion of their residency programme, the credential file will only be preliminary approved until the letter from the Supervisor of the Residency Training Programme (certifying that the minimum requirement have been achieved) is received by the Chair of the Credential Committee once the residency programme has been completed.

Dear ECVN/ESVN member,

Due to EBVS recommendations/rules, some changes were made to enhance the credentialing process (the new guidelines are updated in our website, please read them carefully). There are important changes that have to be taken into account for the current and future residents:

  • Credentials cannot be submitted before completion of the Residency Programme. This will be started to be applied for applicants wishing to submit the credentials in September 2019 in order to sit the certification examination of the European College of Veterinary Neurology in February 2020.
  • The examination process will be moved from October to February. This will start in February 2020. Therefore, the last examination process in October will take placed in 2018. During 2019, there will NOT be any examination process taking placed.
  • The deadline for submission of the credentials will be moved to the 1st of September. This will start from the 1st of September 2019 for those applicants who wish to take the exam in February 2020.
  • For the applicants that wish to take the exam in October 2018, the deadline for the submission of the credentials will be 15th March 2018.
